Meet the Board

Martin Rowley graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1975. Chairman of the Company since October 2007; Retired executive Director of Business Development of First Quantum Minerals Ltd. from January 2007 to December 2017; Chief Financial Officer of First Quantum Minerals Ltd. from December 1997 to January 2007; Non-executive Chairman and a director of Lithium One Inc from November 2009 to July 2012. Non-executive Chairman and a director of Galaxy Resources Limited since November 2013.

Mark Frewin is the Interim CEO of the Company and he has been a Director since September 2005; Vice-President Legal Affairs of the Company from 2010 to 2017; Head of Legal Affairs of the Company from 2007 to 2010; Director of Caledonian Consultancy Limited since June 2013. Partner, McCarthy Tétrault LLP (Law Firm) from January 2006 to June 2013. Director of Giyani Gold Corp. from 2012 to 2016 and Chairman of Westbridge Energy Corp. from 2012 to 2015.

Jorge Estepa has served as Corporate Secretary of the Company since 2004 and Director since 2015. He is a University of Toronto graduate who has Der 25 years experience with publicly traded companies, serving in both investor relations and corporate administrative and development capacities. Mr. Estepa is and has been over the past 23 years an officer and/or director of numerous minerals resource public corporations listed on stock exchanges in Canada.

Richard Parkhouse was appointed as a Director of the Company in May 2021. Mr. Parkhouse is an experienced Board Director and Chief Operating Officer with over 30 years’ experience and has held a breadth of senior management appointments in global investment banks and asset management companies across strategic business development, marketing and investor advisory, and senior infrastructure and operational management roles. He has served on multiple private and public company boards in different jurisdictions focusing on governance, risk management and social responsibility matters. Mr. Parkhouse holds an Honours Degree in Economics from Brunel University and has also been awarded a distinction MBA in Finance from City Business School.

Knowledge Katti graduated from the university of Namibia and completed his articles in Accountancy with PWC. Since then, Knowledge has pursued a career in entrepreneurship and business and contributed considerably to Namibia’s economic growth by attracting foreign investors to the country in sectors such as mining, oil and health industry. He has played an instrumental role in the entry of Shell Upstream, Total, Galp, Chevron, Exxon and Woodside Oil into Namibia. Notably, Knowledge and his partners Galp and Namcor were involved in the latest discovery of over 10bn barrels of oil in Namibia.

His experience includes various Directorships across oil and natural gas companies together with copper and phosphate companies. He currently is Chairman of Custos Energy (Pty) Ltd which is part of a consortium that drilled three oil wells off the coast of Namibia in 2012. Previously, Knowledge was a Director with Kombat Copper Inc where he was instrumental in restoring the Kombat flooded mine and bringing it back into production.

Knowledge is a key investor and holds the position of Managing Director with Intaka Technology Namibia (Pty) Ltd which supplies Medical Oxygen to hospitals across Namibia.

Over 25 years’ experience in Capital Markets and Finance as an Investment Manager and Advisor and held various roles as CIO and Member of the Investments Committee of asset management companies and family offices.

Worked for more than 8 years at Goldman Sachs in the Equity Division. He began his career at Mediobanca as a banker.

Holds a degree in Economics with 110/110 “cum laude” from Bocconi University, where he subsequently worked as researcher in the Public Finance Department.
